Bernice Anne W. Chua is an Indie Videogame Developer with over 15 years of relevant experience in the field. She is currently working as a Software Engineer for a stealth startup in autonomous vehicles, where she is responsible for creating videogames for AI, 3D Modelling, level design, programming, testing/unit-testing, ROS-integration, websockets, and serving as a backup person for I.T. Bernice is proficient in C#, Python, ROS, rospy, Blender, socketio, troubleshooting, and debugging. Before joining the startup, Bernice was the Founder and Videogame Developer at chua productions, an indie videogame startup. Here, she conceptualized ideas for videogames, programmed videogames with C# & Unity, created 3D models with pencil, paper, and Blender, wrote custom shaders, added sound, audio, and music with LMMS, Audacity, and much more. She also collaborated with others in game jams and hackathons, showcased the videogames in indie game expos, conventions, etc., and created promotional materials like stickers, swag, and youtube videos. Bernice was responsible for creating surveys to get feedback in the closed-beta and improving the games based on the feedback. She also observed others play-test, took notes from those observations and feedback, and improved the games based on the feedback. Bernice has also worked as a Freelancer and Consultant, where she has worked on various projects such as Marine Biology VR, RePeptionist, Lifeline, Bunk, Thermo-Aggregation Project, Choose Your Own Adventure, Where's It From, Rolly-Ball, Cubey-Things, and Passitive. She has also worked on The Hurt Locker Sweeper, a minesweeper clone, satirically named after the film "The Hurt Locker." Bernice has a Bachelor's degree in Economics, with a minor in Geographic Studies from the University of California, Davis. She has also completed classes in Java, Ruby, Perl, Discrete Math, and Physics (Classical Mechanics and Electromagnetism) from City College of San Francisco. She has also completed a Full Stack Web Development course from dev bootcamp and a Software Development course from free code camp. Bernice's TechStack includes Software Engineer, test, designer, AI, ui, Python, Integration, qa, Android, and Javascript.
